I finally got my PCP willing to order the bloodwork I need. His stance was he would not be able to interpret the results. I told him I understood that and if he would order them it would tell me if I was within normal limits or not and at that point I would seek out the appropriate specialist if needed. He kept saying over and over to not blame him if insurance denied payment. I give him Dr. Rabkin's list and told him to use the same diagnosis codes. I have BCBS of NC. Has anyone ever had any issues in insurance covering these test?

I can't speak to the insurance question, but will advise you to get the exact lab results yourself and not just rely on either the doc or his office staff to tell you whether something is normal or not. You need to know not just that something is within normal limits, but also the trends, so if something is on the verge of tanking you can adjust your supplements before you become deficient (or if too high you can cut back before becoming toxic). Don't expect anyone else to go back to old results for you to see if you are stable or going in a bad direction. No one cares about this more than you.
