So yesterday was my appointment with the Nut and my first set of labs since surgery. I am sitting in the office with my legs crossed - because I could cross them. I am thinking I have lost 80 pounds in the 4ish months - feeling pretty positive about things, looking pretty good in my size 22 - down from 32..... When, this nice lady sitting next to me asked me if I was there to get 'the surgery'. I was taken aback - Reckon, I still look like I need 'the surgery'. She was there with her daughter-in-law for something. She did not look like she needed 'the surgery' but I sure was not going to ask. :)

so, I am still positive about things because I have lost 80 pounds in 4ish months, and they advanced food to phase 4 - all that means for me is adding in red meat. I have a filet planned for Sunday.

Awaiting lab results and will ask about those if things are screwy. BP was 98/52 - laughed about that.

Which nut did you have? I always made sure I had Krystal. While she still spouted the "party" line about low fat and wanting me to take the BariLife, she never got weirded out when I mostly did the smile and nod. And she was more than willing to give me my lab copies...but then I always had mine pulled about 2-3 weeks before the nut appt.

Just remember, some people have NO filter.

Sheesh what a question. If I ever do ask, it's where are you in this process? That's the safest way, I feel.

Did you tell her you'd lost 80 lbs. in 4 months??!!?!

I had someone during my PRE-OP ask me how long ago I had surgery. Same office. So yeah, the filter is missing in many of them.

oh dear lordy, at least she did not ask me about being preggers! @southernlady I did have Krystal - she did not get flipped out by me telling her I mixed my am protein in ½ and ½, but she did tell me to watch fat intake as it stimulates appetite. I smelled and nodded and said oh really, that is new info and did not know that. Gave her something to talk about a few minutes.
@aaa i did not tell her I had lost 80 pounds, I just said I had already had surgery. was rather shocked so just staid quiet.

That's odd...my butter coffee fills me up. If I have a second cup before second breakfast, I am too full to bother eating protein. Odd that fat TRIGGERS appetite, LOL. I always thought it made you feel fuller.

It makes me have to shit! :D Seriously though I guess it could make one hungry because too much fat does make me have to go to the bathroom, which cleans me out so my upper GI tract is empty and therefore needs to be filled again......so I guess in a round about way it could stimulate the appetite because my system does not like to be empty.

4 months for red meat? That's extreme!
That's because if Boyce's office had their way NO ONE would ever eat red meat again. And no pork either. Just white meat chicken and fish.

@duh_Mom, once I got to the one month mark (now remember I was a virgin DS not a revision), I ate hamburger. It was all of two bites. Took me almost all week to eat an entire burger patty. And I used applesauce as the moist. But I ate red meat very early according to Boyce's timeline. In fact, I hit stage four at 6 weeks out (on my own). I did two weeks of liquid but got seriously tired of never leaving the bathroom. Moved to soft foods at 2 weeks (diarrhea stopped then), then to not quite so soft foods at 4 weeks and by 6, I was trying anything I wanted...very carefully.

I'm NOT saying anyone else should do that but it was what I did.

BTW, my advice, bought ignore your Nut and listen to this board when it comes to diet and supplements.

I was 'allowed' to have ground beef - which i thought was weird, I mean ground beef is red meat, but I followed their advice as far as that is concerned. - and I am following all ya all's advice when it comes to nutrition - they only want me to have 30 fats a day - good lord fred!. I always felt torn too, because of the complications post surgery, I wanted to take the adding in new foods slowly . I tried/ try to walk a fine line between following their instructions and doing what is proven by you guys to be best.

The no red meat was to be 6 months - so for me the middle of december - but they advanced me faster. Not sure why, unless it has to do with EWL. I am just at about 50ish. All that said, glad I found you guys!
