Same here. One cracked while eating an almond. Having 4 implants next month. Half price at a dental school, with a professor doing the work and dental students watching. Takes much longer, but given the 16k quoted at a "real" dentist, it's worth it. It is eating enough red meat protein that is challenging now, with the missing back teeth. Anemia prevention. Once the implants heal and the crowns go on, I'll be back to steak, but there is only so much ground meat and sausage you can take. I don't blame the tooth loss on DS but on lack of fluoride as a child (well water) and bad dental work in the 1970s. But eventually, most people need to have teeth replaced, with or without bariatric surgery. If I could go back in time, I would have used the prescription fluoride toothpaste as an adult and gotten more than 2 cleanings a year. We eat so many meals a day with DS, I probably should have brushed more than twice a day.
