I have to have 4 teeth surgically removed thanks to malnutrition and excessive acid reflux. I was at a concert Tuesday chewing gum and an entire tooth came out in the gum root and all. Well 1 less tooth i have to have surgically removed.

Wow, sorry, that sounds awful. Dental is such a pain - literally! Feel better.

Gosh that's awful. Do you take the recommended vitamin regime for a DS patient and are you taking meds to help combat acid reflux? I'm sorry you're having these problems. I love my teeth and would be devastated if that happened to me.
Yes i follow the DS regime. Even though i do i have still have had TONS OF ABSORPTION ISSUES. Everyone here knows i have been the problem child for 3 years.
I have not been taking my protonix for a month. Insurance wint pay. So i have been buying over the counter. Dr. K is working on a preauthorizarion.
I have taken great care my teeth since a child. Sad to loose them like this but hey I'm alive. Teeth are the least of my worries in the grand scheme of things.

I have to prioritize. U knowing everything that has happened to me im greatful to be alive; then not out of my mind; then happy not to be paralyzed from the neck down. I can always buy some teeth. If I think about it too long I get depressed and give up and in. Thank goodness for the power of the mind to take over. Lol

Buying teeth? So true. IF I ever have to buy new ones, I want movie star teeth. I swear they all are exactly the same. Mine are very tobacco and coffee stained as well as the discoloration that comes with age. I talked to my dentist about caps. If I had that kind of money, I'd buy something more fun.

It is looking like the end of the month when I will be getting my sigmoid colon and possibly the descending colon as well. Not sure if you have to go back again around that time but I really want to meet you and give you a big hug one of these days. Would love to meet Toot as well.

I'm so sorry this is happening. I assume since you are working with Dr. K you are in So. Cal. You know, I just has a ton of dental work done and I went to Tijuana to save money. I loved my dentist. So, if you want a referral, let me know. I did lots of research. and they even took my insurance. 20k of dental was 5K in Mexico. It's crazy, I have good health insurance, but they would only pay 8k towards my DS. And my dental limit is $1,500 a year, so not much. Oral surgeon here would not take my insurance and oral surgeon in MX would. So, in total going to Mexico for all these health issues, saved me $42,000 in the past 3 months. Crazy!

Fortunately a coworker called in a favor. Im getting teeth pulled and implants for the cost of my $350.00 medical deductible. The dentist will charge my dental and medical insurance due to the medical issues that are going on. Whatever else will be written off...Alledgedly.. at least thats what the dentist told me.
