Good news.....I wold ask them leave the IV in until you are discharged, even if you are sipping. I hate when Dr's take an IV out because somebody is starting to drink. The extra hydration provides a bit of a buffer as one's ability to drink improves. I know @Will2014 agrees with this.Hi, guys! I'm doing good I think. Been walking and am now anxiously awaiting them to give me the blu dye test so I can get IV out and start sipping. I've belched some and tooted some air out on the toilet this morning. I'm sore but pain has been bearable and no nausea at all. So far I'm very pleased with the hospital and doctors here. Dr Esquerra said I had lots of scar tissue/adhesions which he just had to go very slowly which turned into between 5 and 6 hours. He's a very nice person. My sister has been pleased with the cafeteria food so that is good.
They won't let you drink before they do that after the fact leak test? I was allowed to drink within probably 6 hours of surgery.
