In 2010 I was wheeled into an epic 11hr long surgery. I had a splenic bleed, Prof Patel got type A flu during and it was a total farce. I was at the point of making a suicide plan before surgery. I was struggling to walk and to self care. My life now bares no resemblance to my old self. I work in Iraq, I travel the world for adventure, I live with joy and freedom. I eat without fear, I thrive. I’m 68kg where I mostly maintain. I’ve never looked back and wished I’d done it differently. I have survived triple negative breast cancer. There’s no way I would have found my Tumour when I was SMO. My recovery has been down to my fitness and resilience. I don’t chose to take up less space now. I choose to fill the room. Happy surgiversary to moi. XxIMG_3961.jpeg

Happy surgiversary dear Kirmy. I’m so glad you celebrate the life you have. And, yes, there is a difference between how you fill the room back then and now.
