So sorry!!! I had to get off of my estrogen based BCP LoLestrin Fe a month before surgery, but they had all that stuff listed in the pre-op class paperwork.

I had just been approved a few days prior to this so I did not have the benefit of a pre-op appt with the surgeon for this surgery. However it was not mentioned in the required 'Lifestyle Class' that explains the pre-op and post op diets and surgical requirements. I have since talked to 2 other DS patients of hers and they told me they were rescheduled several times as well.... One girl quit smoking for 5 weeks then the dr wanted 8 weeks (I have no idea if she was cheating) and then it was anothet month because of a medication, and then she wanted her to lose more weight on the pre-op diet. But she was ready to do my surgery without a pre-op diet. I'm not a surgeon but it sounds crazy to me. I have called the office every day to get a new date. I got one returned phone call that said it would be 'sometime next month'. I have tried to find out which week they are looking at but again they have stopped returning my calls and emails. I'm so freaking frustrated that I'm about to call Simper and see how far out he is scheduling. I mean really.... A phone call or email with an update takes 2 seconds. Hot flashes and night sweats are horrible.... I'm trying to be patient but it's not exactly one of my virtues.

They should definitely be communicating better. Are you in the same town as your surgeon? If so I would drive to the office and hang around until they give you a date. It is ludicrous that they will not provide a date when you are already approved so if it takes you having a face to face with the scheduler I would think about doing just that. People don't blow a person off as easily in person as they do over the phone.

The office is only 30 minutes away. But...it's not as easy as just giving me a date. I know they have to work with Dr Bonani in PA for when he can be here to proctor the surgery. So it's not like they are scheduling other patients ahead of me. However... It would be nice to know if they know when he will be here. At one point they said 'around the 11th' but that's a Wednesday. The other surgeries he has proctored have been on a Sat and Sun at the last weekend or first weekend of the month. The weekend before the 11th is Mothers Day and I doubt the drs want to be away from their families. The last weekend in April is only a couple of weeks away. I'm 'supposed' to do a 2-wk pre-op diet.... So if that's the weekend somebody better be calling me..... But then again the pre-op diet doesn't seem like a big deal before this. It's just all really frustrating.

Stay on them. They need to communicate regardless of schedule coordination.

I hear you hon. Unfortunately the older I get the less I worry about pissing people off.

Like you patience isn't my strongest virtue and if I suspect somebody is incompetent or just doesn't give a duck, well let's say I can be kind of a dick..... Or so my bride tells me.

I can only be patient for so long. If I don't hear from them this week I'm going to call Simper's office and see what they can do if anything. If I have to wait until the end of May I'm going to be way pissed!
