yay!This week I’m back up to 120.
Sorry you gained. Make sure you are on two forms of birth control post op, one being a barrier method. Fertility post op skyrockets. And you don’t want to get pregnant for a minimum of 18 months post op, 2 years is better.Last week 392
This week 402.5
Although I'm sad about the gain, it will go away it's my "monthly" and this happens every single time, between a 10lb to 15lb gain, after it's done my weight drops again.
The one time I'm grateful for irregular periods that this will not happen on a monthly basis.

Well, you are dumping hormones from both weight loss and your period. That will mess you up emotionally. So yes, I would say it’s normal.I had a tubal ligation in 2007 after my 3rd child, and I'm also on a (progesterone only) IUD due to continued hormonal imbalance. I'm not able to take estrogen (per the gyno) as it puts me at a higher risk of stroke. (History of migraines since I was 15 and my both my Dad and his grandma had a stroke)
I sincerely appreciate this information I love how you word everything with clarity and details. It's very helpful.
I noticed I have been struggling a lot emotionally the past few days, is that normal? I would assume it's just normal anxiety, but I'm not 100% sure.
I suspect that you will bounce back up soon. Most of us do. We tend to have bounce back weight. Typically anywhere from 10-25 lbs. which is why we don’t tell people to try stopping on their way down the first time.8/11/24
143.3 pounds
8/18/24
142.7 pounds.
Unfortunately, I am not in my green zone of
145-150 pounds. I was told to not lose more weight due to recent post op complications (hypotension and extreme low heart rate). Was I was 147.2 pounds when I was told by my PCP and cardiologist on 7/30/24.
I'm crying as I read this out loud to my Husband. I had no idea. You have given me the power to get ahead of this and even protect my new marriage. (We've been together 1 year)Well, you are dumping hormones from both weight loss and your period. That will mess you up emotionally. So yes, I would say it’s normal.
Now, fair warning, your hormones will go into overdrive post op cause they will be losing their home. It’s like a very bad case of PMS. You will be damned near impossible to live with. Warn your family now. It’s not them you will be yelling at, you will just be yelling or crying cause your body doesn’t know what else to do. It’s not personal to them
My husband and I were 5 weeks apart and we both went thru it. We damned near killed each other the first year. Only reason we didn’t is we had read about it ahead of time. We survived but it was a rough year. And WE KNEW ABOUT IT!
Sending lots of love8/11/24

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but the DS regularized my periods, which previously were often missed due to PCOS. Mine showed up unexpectedly while recovering in hospital and then monthly like clockwork afterward.... Be warned - DS also has a history of boosting fertility!Last week 392

Thankfully I had a tubal ligation in 2007 with my last child. I was given and IUD last year in an attempt to regulate my periods to no avail, if anything it's worse because I've been spotting since it was placed. (They removed a polyp a month before)Not to be the bearer of bad news, but the DS regularized my periods, which previously were often missed due to PCOS. I weigh myself daily. I also check my BP/HR often. I am determined to get my BP/HE on track because I need to have an endoscopy as soon as possible. My bariactric office suspected I had an ulcer since 6/20/24. But because of the shortages of appointments for specialists and my low BP, a gastroenterologist will not perform an endoscopy.I suspect that you will bounce back up soon. Most of us do. Now with hypotension and a very low heart rate, have you considered adding sodium to your diet? And unlike most, weigh daily. If you lose too much, rein it in. Do you have a BP cuff at home? If so, is it calibrated with your doctors office? If not, take it in and have it calibrated.
Thankfully that’s no longer that far away. After my hospital stay (7/22-7/26), I got another gastroenterologist (in the same group as my PCP and cardiologist) but don’t see him until 8/28.
