Prolia Results/Feedback

Hi all! I would love to hear feedback results from Prolia injections. I have been fighting with osteoporosis for quite a few years and my latest dexy scan is not good. a decrease of 10% in my hips which is bad of course. my Endo is wanting to start Prolia and I feel I am at that point I have tried every other option I would love to hear The Good The Bad and The Ugly from any Prolia users

My husband has had two Prolia shots. He had to bypass all the others due to kidney issues. Our osteoporosis specialist beat Medicare into getting his DEXA and his Prolia in spite of him being male. She’s a wonder. We won’t know how well it’s working fo another year when he’s able to repeat his DEX. But other than feeling like he got a bee sting in his arm, he’s had no side effects from the shots and that only lasted 30 mins or so.

No, they predate the Prolia.

I've been on Prolia at least for three years. My bone density has improved to the point where I don't have osteoporosis. I have osteopenia.

I fractured my hip due to trauma. I was close to two months away from my partial hip replacement when my last shot was due. The endocrinologist was a bit concerned and put in a call to the orthopedic surgeon. He didn't connect because the ortho doc was in surgery. He went ahead and gave me the dose.

I have the next injection scheduled in October. My PCP has the DEXA scanner in his office. There's only been one time that Medicare didn't pay for the scan. The fee was less than $100.00 and I gladly paid it.
