I found this fascinating to read and think about, if I don't agree with all of it. working in a nursing home I am surrounded by actual work that needs to be done. this makes it harder to do the BS portions of my job. and the idea of a job that is pure BS...well, if it pays well I swear I will find meaning elsewhere. but nobody is going to offer me one. it sure can't be any good for society, seems like. I mean, when there IS so much that needs doing.

the woman who shared the link on FB has a call center job and she says that inbetween calls they are not allowed to read a book - but they can surf the net. WTH? she says, because they can SEE where she is surfing so they are OK with that. a book they can't see/control.
