Oops Velveeta isn't real cheese . My boys love that stuff, especially homemade mac and cheese with a homemade white sauce, Velveeta and whatever other shredded cheeses I have in the frig. I prefer real cheese and I'm an equal opportunity cheese eater (well except fat free, that isn't real cheese either).

I prefer real cheese now but grew up not knowing there was any other kind but Velveeta.

my Mom used to love eating peanut butter, honey, and velveeta sandwiches. OMG.

Fresh string beans, steamed and coated with butter and salt: Vegetable A.
Canned string beans, cold, out of the can as a low-cal snack: Vegetable B - completely different and NOT comparable or an imitation of Vegetable A.

Same with Velveeta. It's just different and has similar but different uses than "real" cheese.

IMHO.
