So, I'm struggling with the last 5 to 7 pounds. And I've done everything I can to get them off, but they are just not going anyway.

I've been complaining to my sister inlaw about them for about 6 months.

She just looked at me today and say, well, Beth, you have been complaining about between between 135 and 140 for 6 months. Do you realize for most of your adult life, you have been around 250. I hate to tell you this but all American women hate that last 5 pounds.

Kind of gives you perspective.

I'm tempted to get my boobs done, but it feels...very vain, in a way that WLS did not. Still working on unpacking my feelings about that. And I didn't realise how crumply my tummy is until I did naked yoga and did downward dog. Luckily not a position I'm in too often, so doubt I'd bother ;)

Ha! I went through the vain issue too, but I was like screw it, if this upsets me, I'm fixing it.

In Dr Rabkin's group (btw, everyone wants you to come back ;-) ) Bill Hartman showed a study that the WLS makes people happy. Then, plastics makes people 2x happier after WLS. So, I was like OK, it it makes me 25% happier than I am now about the WLS, that would be amazing, since I think WLS is a miracle. A 2x miracle feeling would be so, well even more amazing.

My view is that you are all perfect as you are, but if something is driving you nuts and PS will make you feel better, then but do whatever makes you happy. After years of being obese in a society that treats the obese like lepers, it's not about vanity, it's about self-confidence. Just please, please, please be aware that PS comes with real risks (mine resulted in pulmonary emboli that came very close to killing me). Make sure to get the best cutter possible, equally important is someone who will provide adequate aftercare.
