Me: Did I ask for help? Did you assume I’m incapable of finding a spoon?
Him: I’m not doing anything else right now.
Me: I know that. And there strangers in a room that has THOUSANDS of dollars worth of jewelry and hundreds of pills that have a street value of ten bucks a pop.
Him: I didn’t know that.
Me: But I did, which is why I asked you to sit THERE to play solitaire. I’m all over the spoon situation; the “help” I need is for you to sit there and keep your eyes on valuables.


So, since the psychologist at the VA says he doesn’t even have MILD cognitive impairment…does he just not give a ****? He’s just SOOOOO disconnected from what’s going on. I guess that’s why we’re moving. I can share the experience with others.
 
Aw. I'm sorry for the frustration. Hopefully things will be better when you're settled.
 
Yeah, I question my husband's cognitive functions at times. I can't think of anything specific at this time. That's probably my cognitive protection. I'm also his ears and mouth piece on occasion. It's especially bothersome when we're in some public place like a restaurant and I take over his order. Being childless, I wonder if it's what parents deal with with young children. He doesn't seem to be embarrassed, yet I feel uncomfortable.
