I think it's something going around in the family - with a toddler in daycare, we have a vector bringing home who-knows-what diseases. Charles and I have been feeling crummy for several days - he's got the trots, and has thrown up a few times, but he's one of those people who "doesn't mind" and just lets it go. I will do ANYTHING to avoid barfing, but in the middle of the night last night, I couldn't stop it any longer - nothing but stomach acid, but pretty miserable.

Previously, I've had barfing issues from reflux, before I got my PPI meds right - this was a bit different, as I ended up dry-heaving for quite a while, which did not happen when it was "just" the reflux. On the other hand, when I've gotten the flu in the past, it is usually much more intense and over with more quickly - I've been feeling queasy and unwell for several days now.

The "good" news is that I was down to 192.0 this morning - but I know that some of it is crap, and most of the rest is muscle, because I have not felt well enough to get dressed and get out of bed for 3 of the last 5 days. And of course I'm not eating that well - I just had a small bowl of plain spaghetti with ricotta and parmesan (because I couldn't handle the tomato sauce), after having a small bowl of grits for breakfast and that's just not how I should be eating.

I hope this stops soon, because I can't eat like this or spend so much time in bed for much longer.

I hope you two feel better soon. That happened with us when Trinity first started daycare when she was 3ish. They bring home everything under the sun in the area and are carriers because their immune systems are so young, viral, and strong and fight it off and then we get the mutated version of the virus, which of course we don't recognize. The good news is, after about six months or so, once our immune systems have recognized all the local viral flora “so to speak”, we hardly ever got sick anymore, ever…lol

Just saw this ... get well soon. Stay hydrated. It's really easy to get dehydrated when you're nauseated. Drink anything that will stay down.

Fortunately, I'm not having too much trouble drinking, so long as I mix up what I'm drinking - diet Barq's, Canada Dry Lemon Lime Seltzer, Lipton diet Lemon Iced Tea - and I even managed to gag down a mug of coffee with a LOT of creamer this morning. Chicken soup for a late lunch. Blintzes for dinner.

Kids - they are just little disease-ridden monkeys.

Oh and I just realized - I'm back to 100 (actually 101) lbs down!

Yuck. here's wishes that you are well on the way to recovery soon. I, too, will do most anything to avoid puking. It is the worst.
