I don't have details...I saw the info when @kirmy posted it. She will be missed by all her friends.

Mary was an orthopedic and bariatric nurse who got involved with OH, and many people knew her through there (she posted as Finnigan). She helped me a lot during the litigation with my stalker, including emotional support. She had hip surgery a couple of months ago, and was having problems with stubborn infection, but I don't know what happened - it was sudden.

Of course I remember her, and just adored her! I'm so sorry for her family. This sucks.

PSA: many of us lost a friend yesterday, almost exactly my age (I'm pushing 62, she was 63) who may have ignored the signs of a heart attack (back pain in her case) until it was too late. WOMEN - we have different symptoms than men! Please read - and Pay it Forward for Finni.

This was not exactly answered, so I will answer. No, not DS related.

Mary had worked as a surgical (including bariatric surgery) nurse. She did not have bariatric surgery herself...although she occasionally suggested that she was a candidate for bariatric surgery. But her hip was bothering her most...so that went to the front of the line. She was DELIGHTED with the procedure she had and with the support she had from her family. Recovery was not a piece of cake, but...in her estimation...things were moving along fairly smoothly.

I don't know that she ignored warning signs...because as a former surgical nurse she didn't want to be a whiney patient(?)...but there IS that chance.
