In their workbook (which is excellent) DsSurgery.com says to plug your **ideal body weight** into it's protein calculator. This has me confused. Is this a bariatric thing? Aren't cells cells? If you have 300 lbs of them you still need to make sure they all can repair themselves. And it isn't like my body knows about the culturally and politically acceptable US recommendations, so it seems like I would get a pretty random result.
The more I learn about protein the more confused I get. According to the World Health Organization:
Waaa? Can you imagine all the massive orange body builders and the old fat women on scooters lining up for the annual supplement sale? The science sounds like it comes down to the density of the protein source, but it is a 255 page report and I need to read it a few more times. And then I will have to try and figure out how that translates to my wls.
