Hey Everyone!

just joined this forum, but am a “long timer” to WLS!
I had the sleeve surgery Dec 18, 2018. After years of gradual worsening of GERD/reflux (big story behind that), I had revision from sleeve to gastric bypass July 20, 2022.
I am here to make friends, learn some stuff I didn’t know, or maybe assist others if I can!

Welcome.. these folks are really helpful and well informed. Most posts are on DS, not RNY, so there are some differences in recommendations and complications of the two surgeries.

That said, search the old posts and you'll find a wealth of information.

Myself, I had the VSG in 2018 and the DS part in 2019. I'd like to hear your story about Gerd, that's one complication I did not have.

After years of gradual worsening of GERD/reflux

I had bad reflux before my VSG and my surgeon fixed my hiatal hernia at the same time.

it's been a problem ever since my surgery and I didn't realize at the time that PPI (acid blockers) are not something people should be on long-term. if any of my doctors knew this, they didn't tell me! so I've been trying to wean down since then.
