If so, please post the name and contact info/web site below. If too new to post a link (under 10 posts), then put the practice and location so one of us can google it.

It also helps if we know if they only do certain revisions such as a lapband to sleeve, or sleeve to DS. OR if they do the full monty, the RNY to DS.

To help us vet these surgeons, ask your surgeon the questions listed below. And then post the answers you get. It also helps to explain to her/his office or her/him as to why you would like the information.

This is what I used to ask my surgeon via his nurse. (Edited for anyone to use)

"There is a list of Duodenal Switch patients from ALL over the country who help others learn about this particular surgery and which surgeons do the procedure.

I want to add Dr. ........... to that list but we need a few details if you don't mind answering.

    1) About how many DS surgeries has she/he done (not the practice but him/her)?

    2) Complication rate?

    3) Where did she/he learn the skill to do a DS? Who was his/her mentor?

    4) Does he/she do revisions?

    4) About how many revisions to a DS has she/he done.
If she/he only does lapband to DS then how many of those has she/he done?

    5) Where did she/he learn to do that revision?"

    6) One or two anastomoses?

I am trying to add more options to this thread but we need those questions answered to help us.

Edited to add question number 6 since the advent of the SADI/LoopDS/SIPS surgeons.

I will list the surgeons I personally consulted with, who I know revise from sleeve to D.S. They also all revise from RNY to DS. I am sorry I can't answer all the questions you listed because I was too stupid to ask. Also worth noting, I have not had surgery yet, so none of these people are my official surgeons. Also I must have consulted with at least a dozen people who do sleeve to RNY on what seems to be a very regular basis. They should be about as easy to find as a Starbucks.

    Dr. Kesheshian (obviously) ((818) 812-7222)

Dr. Marek Lutrzykowski in Bloomfield Hills, Mi. ((248) 322-1543) Does sleeve to D.S, RNY to DS etc. Trained with Dr.Kesheshian in Michigan. Only does open revisions. Traditional D.S, two anastomoses. Is partial to re-resleaving.

Dr. Greenbaum in Willingboro, NJ. ((609) 877-1737) I think? He may do lap surgeries (but would only do my revision open). I am pretty sure he does the traditional D.S, but honestly at the time, I didn't ask.

Dr. Kemmeter in Grand Rapids, Mi. ((616) 956-6100) Does all revisions, he has even revised a D.S to an RNY. He was willing to revise sleeve to D.S laparoscopically as well. Does not yet do the SADI right now, only traditional D.S) but said he might try in several years once its been around for 10 years.

I found all these doctors very friendly, easy to talk to, and would be willing to have any of them operate on me. And yes, I actually am picky about that. Some of them need new office staff though.

I'm sorry I have been working with my doctor's office... Yes she does revision, as to which one's she prefers the Apollo Overstitch but they do provide others. But she prefers the overstitch and pushes that one.

I have yet to see a good study that shows that any of the various endoscopic procedures provides significant and lasting weight loss, other than some weight loss from the 6 weeks of liquid diet after the procedure.

Of course - because after a while, you'll be back for yet another procedure.
