I agree...Not for me. Not going to be a part of the "big Pharma machine". Over the yrs my PCP had me on all of them and all they do is cause muscle pain all over my whole body, like Fibromyalgia or similar. And they never brought my numbers (which were never that bad to begin with), down very much anyway. I finally had to get rude with her and tell her no, my body, my life, my choice. The scientific evidence is equally conflicting on both sides IMHO.

My husband had the same experience with muscle pain.

Here's my deal, though. I remember reading that although...
•People who have heart attacks tend to have higher cholesterol, and
•Statins do lower cholesterol,
There is no (or limited) evidence that lowering cholesterol prevents heart attacks.

Or something like that.
