And they are here. We have mountain chickadees and wrens and doves and house finches and BABY goldfinches, which are GLORIOUS to watch as they are SO yellow and so tiny and fighting over the food in the seed sock. AND we have a couple of quail who have come to call this place home. They, too, are fun to watch as they are out there acting more like chickens, scratching at the ground instead of going for the easy stuff in the feeders. The hummingbirds aren't here yet, but we expect them momentarily.
Of course, those big, ugly purple flying rats...at which we throw rocks...think they should be allowed to play here, but that is not the case. ******* pigeons. And the doves just calmly watch us throw rocks at the pigeons and kind of shake their heads at all the commotion.
I'm making Mr. Sue start weaning these birds so they leave slowly...we don't want a few dozen to show up one day and find all the food gone.
Also, yesterday there were and today there are, zero tomatoes in my big expensive planter. But the stupid Topsy Turvy thing, which I bought on clearance for 50-cents has a dozen or so thingys that were flowers a day or two ago and are teensy tomatoes this morning.
I feel like Eva Gabor.
