well, balls, I wrote a big post and it double posted so when I deleted one they both went.

basically, I'm going to stop playing slots. but thanks for the links, I will eyeball those. I got a brochure at the casino that had a list of warning signs but it did say how many of them was too many.

what do I want a big win for anyway, it won't make me happy or younger or less anxious. I have to do that stuff anyway.

so the hell with it.

Yeah...the first time we lived near casinos, Mr Sue always traveled as part of his job. And MiniSue and I were "home" in a free housing situation that was about to end. Mr. Sue called every night. One night I told him that he had had a good day because he had bought a house. Later, he told that to his partner, who said, "I wish Marilyn would stop being so fussy and find a house she likes."

Not long after that, we learned that Marilyn has dumped $30,000 into slots. Thirty thousand dollars! And that was over thirty years ago. (Just under $65k adjusted for inflation.). THAT'S why she couldn't find a house she liked.

So yes...this:

it won't make me happy or younger or less anxious

Considering I have a sugar button hard-wired, I'm probably saving myself a hassle by disliking the idea of casinos (I viscerally hate crowds/chaos/loud noise/smoking or non) unless I am very ****** up, which with control/anxiety issues happens rarely in public.

Are they smoking or non by you? I've walked through one, but it was on the Canadian border, and the only way to get to a crappy Hard Rock for the only open food at that hour (long story of an IN-NY-sidetrack to Canada-IN 3 day trip.) The noise/smoke immediately got my hackles up.
