I got my Dexa bone scan report back yesterday. Not good news. I've had regular bone density scans for years but this was my first DEXA. Osteoporosis. Pretty shocked. I have appt with GYN who ordered it (by the way, I had to remind her it was due, she didn't mention it ) on June 21 to discuss treatment options.
I know nothing about osteoporosis treatments. Is my GYN the best resource or should I see a specialist? Wahhhhh! Ive been compliant (anal) about vits/labs for almost 18 years; my calcium, D, PTH have always been great (except for one check where my PTH went high but I got it back to 18 in 3 mths).
Maybe this is expected for age 67.5? Plus a mom who had painful arthritis (don't think she had scans etc way back then so don't know if she had osteo).
As if my thyroid monster nodule and crapped out spine wasn't enough to deal with! Grrrr!
