Ok. so I got my lab results back and many things have shown improvement, some got worse. But I guess my problem is not sure what to do about it. I totally changed my vitamin regimn since the old one was clearly not working (100,000 dry d 50,000 a 2000 calcium 50 zinc a multi vitamin vitron c b12 sublingual) in june my labs were very bad so I needed to make a change. I had iron infusions a reclast infusion and stopped taking all vitamins and switched to the patch. Everyone said my numbers would drop but some have but some have gotton better.. so where do I go from here.
Here are the lab results.

sooo.. as you can see most things went from out of range to in range but low. I know we want the levels to be mid or high but at least this is a step in the right direction.

I take no iron since the 12 month per the drs instruction since i had an iron infusion. my iron is low but within normal range with a good ferratin so I think that is fine.

my protein calcium and d are all low normal.

my zinc has gone down (will start taking the zinc pills I kinda forgot about taking them)

My A is low but has gone up. Since taking the Dry A really did seem to help my plan is to take 1 A pill a day

My hemo and hema look fine.

I am concerned about my alt since it has continually gone up. could there be a liver problem?? could it be caused by something else???

My plan right now is to keep on the patch. adding zinc and vit a and 2 scoops of upcal d since the normal dry d really did not help.

what do you all think

How often are you taking Vitamin A? One a day is not very much and I know YMMV, but I am up to 8 of the 25,000 IU Biotech Dry A daily. Low A is bad for your eyes so get on this one quickly. My A is down to 28 on a 35 min reference range so if it doesn't come up on my next draw in a few weeks I will ask for a shot/infusion (I had upped it to 150K IU daily from 100K and still dropped)

Your Total Protein is right at minimum and your albumin is close too. I am not sure how much protein you are getting in but you need more.

Definitely jump on the Zinc...low zinc can mean malnutrition and I have really struggled to keep it in range (taking 300MG daily and just bumped to 400MG as it dropped - most of my key lab values went wrong way this last draw).

I don't see copper listed. You should have that checked as well. It is important and know that Zinc and Copper can fight one another so I have been told to not take together. @DianaCox I believe in your lab thread that you said you thought it was best to take these together. I didn't read your link because I suck at chemistry and not much better at biology (now physics I rock, but chemistry never made any sense with damn molarity, lewis structures, valence and counting that shit..etc. :D ) so can you expound upon why you think taking together makes sense. I know you are a biology smartster so maybe you can help me understand why you feel differently about taking together with zinc as opposed to other articles I have read saying to take not together....thanks!

ALT , I would watch but would not worry. That number has to get to 3-5 times that before Docs even bat an eye. Cameron's AST & ALT have been very elevated several times and Docs blow it off....and they both came back down.

Regarding Vitamin D, I am not familiar with the powder, but there are many of us who take 200K IU D daily. You are still in range so I would suggest doubling your D and see what it does.

All my doctors want zinc and copper separated, too.

I have high liver enzymes as well. Just began about a year ago and no one is very worried. We just test them and watch them.

Cheryl, when was your Reclast Infusion? The reason I ask is it can affect Calcium results.

Thanks for thevreplies. The past 4 months i have been only on patch. Which i did not realize had practically no zinc. My xinc had always been fine so ill just add zinc not an issue. The problem is the dry d did nothing to help my levels. . Granted i did not go up to 200000 a day.. was hoping to find somethig that worked better that i didn't have to take soo many. Plus i needed to get my calcium up. Calcium pills were not doing it. The patch helped but looks like not enough. So im hoping the upcal d will help both thecalcium and thed. Than add ana or 2 to put the a back in place. . My protein intake is 125. . Guess im going to have to up it to 150. Maybe 175.. been slacking on the protein cause i went back to work and dont have the free time i used to have to concentrate on all this.
I hate the thought of taking 4 of those d since that seems likea lot of money just going down the toilet. I also cannot tell any of my drs cause they didn't like me taking 2 but i did anyway. . Soi would have to not tell them.
Guess I will just have to keep to myself.
