Hello My name is Lynne and I'm a VSG post op of 8 weeks this Tuesday. I've done well but I have a problem with vomiting a lot and I think it's because I eat to fast and trying to eat what I want too soon. Any advice for me. I work out 30 min 3 times a week on the treadmill and 8lb weights. But I know I can't eat no kind of eggs. I can eat watermelon, cheese getting my protein in now but working on my water and drinking.

Hi Lynne, nice to see you. I have a VSG.

water/fluid is more important than protein or anything else - not sure why you are vomiting but dial back on the eating, this is temporary but important.

I was on liquids only for weeks...I forget how many but a lot. I could only eat TINY bites of whatever at your stage.

Welcome, @Lynne
Your sleeve is still very mad at you for the way it got treated...hydration, first and foremost...and put down the fork or spoon between bites...you also need to chew.

It will get better.

I have braces on my teeth so I do chew I just think I may need to slow down so what else will I experience on this journey? What fluids are the best to drink besides water?

I drink Splenda sweetened ice tea and homemade lemonade, but any non or very low caloric fluid is fine.

Thank you soooo much. Is it bad for me to eat watermelon that's the only fruit I can eat. I take a liquid vitamin, Caltrate petites and b12 sublingual. I really hate to eat make myself eat but it's hardly nothing no vegetables just meat and cheese.

Any calorie free beverage is fine.

Stop trying to eat so much. Drink a protein supplement, slowly. You'd be better off to go all the way back to liquids until you quit puking, anyhow.

what sounds good to you, Lynne?

this kind of thing is pricey, but it's possible to find sample packs, see what you like - and some stores will take back opened products if you don't like them

I lived on Syntrax Nectar for the first couple months - when I told a friend I figured I was getting in about 400 calories a day she said, don't you feel weak? no, I didn't at all - it fact I felt fantastic

YMMV!
