I saw this short snippet from National Geographic showing fat, and flushable wipes creating sewer issues in several countries sewer systems. How long till they quit blaming the canola spray and turkey drippings and realize it's us?

But this does make me wonder how much effect we have on the sewer systems, especially like a dedicated septic system at the home of a DSer.

H and I shared a septic system and it survived with no problems at all!

It's not like I've actually lost any sleep or anything over it, but we do have a new property that will be on a septic that made me ponder.

I do know that when the city did some work on the main sewer line that our house sewer goes into, I was talking to the project manager who asked which property I was, and when I told him, he said "oh, you must cook a lot and send greasy food or oil down the garbage disposal", and said he could tell by the whitish residue where our pipe dumped into the main one . I do use a garbage disposal for nearly every single thing I can cram down it, but I don't really cook. Like ever.
