So, this trip taught me I need a new piece of luggage. I borrowed one from my sister. Then I found it online. My sister got hers at Macy's...but her kid works there. I just like to make sure Kohls doesn't make TOO BIG a profit off me.

Original price...$359.
Sale price...$162.
Mystery coupon...30% off...-$42.60 (They take off the dollar discounts before the percentage discounts.)
A Kohl's Cash thing...-$20.
Free shipping.

So the bottom line, with tax, was $107.45, which might actually be a decent price. In any event, it was $279.54 less than what they started out TRYING to charge...which was, of course, insane.

Okay, back to the vacation.

I like the multiple discount shopping.

I see the best discounts AFTER I buy something, most of the time, even though I try ...

What a coincidence. I've been recently suitcase shopping after my favorite tapestry one was lost in a Chicago cab after my daughter borrowed it. (Another drinking accident, like her ACL knee drinking accident years ago). Anyhow, I found a Samsonite swivel job that is just sublime. Cushioned handle, pivots on casters, follows me like the best dog I've ever walked, never tips or lags, even when I run through an airport. Fits in the overhead bin perfectly.

I am the Packing Queen. I can pack for a week in Key West in a small carry-on, vitamins, protein powder and all. My husband requires a Volkswagen-sized behemoth that he can barely lift. He jokes that his contains all my shoes, because it makes him feel better about not being able to pack well.

I envy your mad discount skills. My daughter has those skills as well. I love shopping with her. We have a trip to Mall of America planned soon.
