@JackieOnLine the simplest way to use the fb page to draw traffic here would be for someone who has admin powers on the fb page to post links to threads of interest, primarily focused on informational threads so that we do not directly connect our members' personal stories there.
if someone would like to spend a couple bucks to promote the fb page, the minimum cost is $5 per day. individual fb threads can be promoted started at $5.
a thread shows up in the feeds of people who like the page and their friends, until the maximum reach amount is done. a page promotion goes to the same people p,us others who are targeted based on keywords you select.
for example, I just started a 7 day promotion of my or g's page for $5 per day. I selected ten target terms based on our mission and location. I expect up to 50 new followers based on our current reach.
then I will link a series of blog posts and will promote some of them individually. I intend to spend a total of about $100 between now and september this way and expect between 2500 and 5000 page views as a result. that is in addition to the reach provided by our current following, which runs between 200 and 1000 views per week just from people liking and sharing stuff.
I have developed some idea of which followers share what kinds of posts. some people are turned on by success reports. others adore pictures. still others share calls to action. so I am becoming more able to tailor and target my messages for the desired impact.
it's really cool how it works. my boss, sneaky lady that she is, just sent out side by side screen shots of our fb page and the page of the other related group she cofounded to our board members. other group board scoffed at my development proposal because they were confident they would raise something like $10 million in grants and major gifts as soon as they had a contract in hand for the property on which to build their planned homeless shelter. the couple grand per month I proposed to get them in pledging members in 3 months wasn't worth their time.
well, they lost their contract, made fools of themselves and came away from that fiasco with just ONE benefit: attention due to media exposure. if they had hired me and started their network of pledging members and focused communication, they would be reaping the benefits.
instead, because they ignored all of that, and they have two technophobes in control of their fb page, in the time where they could have gotten umpteen thousand views, they got.....2..... and both of them were ME.
so the boss sent these charming but completely clueless people screenshots of the two pages' stats.
when she combines it with the four new board members I landed last week and the several grand in new cash donations since I started in february, every penny of which is doubled by a major donor's matching grant....
pardon me for lmao at the other board.
sorry, I'm rambling and can't shut up lol.
