This just pisses me the hell off!!

I got my email flyer and the link takes us to kids' slippers. Where if you want to have dino slippers or shark slippers, you may order them...in BOYS sizes. If you (wrongly) think there is a difference between Boys and Girls sizes and want to order slippers for a girl, you may order PINK pony slippers or PINK bunny slippers, because as you all know, girls must wear pink to be girls and there were no girl dinos.

If you are not old enough to remember, we GIRLS used to be excluded from many opportunities because we...you know...we were buttons and bows and we were ******* PINK.

SOME of us protested and got Erector Sets and Chemistry Sets...but the Doctor Dan kits were for boys and the Nurse Nancy kits were for girls because boys could be doctors and girls could be nurses...and not sharks and they had to be PINK.

IF YOU RUN OUT OF THINGS TO DO TODAY, tell Costco to join us in the 21st Century...but don't mention that the slippers are too ugly to buy even if they do change the wording.

**** that. If the kid you're buying for likes sharks or dinosaurs, buy her those! I refused to buy my niece the "girl's" duplo block set. Girls don't NEED blocks to be pink & turquoise with pandas and flowers, so I'll not be forcing that on a 20 month old. That being said, some girls are girly, I like pink, I just object to it being forced on any of us.

The problem lies in not the color BUT THE SIZING!!!!

Recently at Costco dh found a pair of winter mocs that had an outside sole. Smallest they had was too big for me and I wear between a 7 and an 8...So for a female to get a pair, they had to have BIG feet! I TRIED the smallest they had, still too big. *I* had to get mine elsewhere. The slippers they brought in for women were the deerfoam and were slides, I prefer a moc LIKE the men were able to get, I don't WANT the slide.

Another instance of this...they had winter base layers, the men had the option of black or grey...women, PURPLE or PINK! I have nothing against those two colors but as a base layer, I want it in white, grey or black...NOT colors.

This four year old wants to be a pirate when she grows up.

(When my toddler wanted to marry a Volkswagen, I found solace in knowing that the then-President's grandson wanted to be a rabbit. There's some **** you just deal with when you're a mom.)

I have the opposite shoe problem...if they don't come in Wide, I'd better find something in the Men's styles
I like.

LOL. One of favorite surrogate granddaughters will pack a very girly purse with her plastic dinosaurs to tote around. And I've been known to gift children with toys their parents don't want them to have because the toys don't match their sex. Don't even get me started on shoes with my AAA or AAAA feet.

LOL, my Mother had a B width but a quad A heel...she had the worst trouble finding shoes but when she did, she got them in every color they had in her size.

We bought our granddaughter a boy's workship with hammers and stuff last Xmas - as much for making her parents crazy with the noise as for being genderbending.

One of my daughters told us nothing that was 1) needed batteries or 2) noisy...while we avoid the needing batteries, we get the NOISIEST toys possible just to annoy the heck out of her. After all, growing toddlers ARE NOISY!
