But we had gone to the University of Tenn med center for a urology appt cause of a polyp on his prostrate. The urologist we saw in Toledo just said, have it checked in a year. But I went to Dr. Google which convinced me and him to get an appt here (he’s a previous patient to that department)

So we finally find a parking spot (difficult in an F450). And started over to the appt. Where we parked, the easiest entry was thru Heart/Vascular. On our trek, Charles managed to find an uneven spot and fell. He looks like he went several rounds with the mad slasher on his forehead. While the cut was deep enough to need stitches, the angle made those impossible and even steri-strips wouldn’t help. But he has abrasions on his knees, one arm, and right at the base of his palms cause of course, he tried to stop his fall. We got immediate help from a nurse in Heart/Vascular while security took the report, taking photos of his injury and the spot where he tripped. They also called the ED department for a ride and escorted us to the ED.

They cleaned him up, did a CT scan of his head and he got a tetanus shot since we couldn’t remember the last one.

When they came from registration to get all our info, she indicated that the bill would not be ours but sorted out with Billing.

Oh no! Does he have a concussion? That looks like he took a hard hit to his head. Is there any chance the shunt was disturbed (my fear with Dad and his shunt and his instability)?

Get well Charles and stop scaring everyone, especially Liz!

Okay, the ER ruled out a concussion. A CT scan does show the placement of the shunt but nothing else. They didn’t mention any disturbance.

He did take a hard hit. But he wasn’t confused or dizzy afterward. The muscles in his neck hurt. It’s like he gave himself whiplash but they included his neck in the scan.
