Any ideas how to control pain?

Well having broken everything except my left arm and leg, knee , feet and ankles I am in a crap load of pain. I went to pain management Tuesday. I walked out with 4 scripts for narcotics, 3 being faxed right to pharmacy and 1 sent to apothecary. 8 scripts and I still cry because I can't get on top of the pain.

8mg Dilaudid every 4hr, 10mg. flexiril 3 times, 40mg OxyContin 2 x day, Neurotin 800mg 4x day, lidocaine patch 12hr on 12hr off, apothecary cream 5 different things...
more neurotin, flexiril, and 3 anti inflammatory. Plus some pills to stop the excruciating headaches that I just recently started having.

I thought about massage therapy but ruled it out for obvious reasons. Thought about jacuzzi then thought I might be too weak to get back out.

I don't have any other ideas. Anyone ever break bones? What helped your pain. Omg I'm like put me to sleep and wake me up when everthing is healed. I know I'm healing because at first the worse pain was my arm and leg. Now it's ribs and neck. Oh yeah pain management does not believe my neck brace is sufficient. He told me ask a lot of questions make them explain till you understand their training of thought.

I still thank God I'm ALIVE to have deal with all this. I'll take Being Alive for $200 Alex...lol

Charris, you are a walking pharmacy.

Okay, the headaches...make sure you aren't taking something that has that as a side effect. Some pain meds do...your pharmacy will know. And I hope you find a combination that works. BTW, neurontin barely touched my pain when I was taking it and I was upwards of 3600 mgs a day.

Yea You told me. I take 3200mg a day. It helps with my fibromyalgia and neuropathy.

I take 1,800 mg of Neurontin daily to help with the numbness/tingling in my fingers from past radiculopathy. It helps that but doesn't really do anything for pain.

Have you tried Mary Jane? Cameron says it works much better for him than the narcotics.

I almost went up to his room last night to ask him if he had any because I am having trouble sleeping and the 2 norco at bedtime to help sleeping and with shoulder pain aren't doing much good.....but I just couldn't bring myself to ask my kids for weed (weed is very popular with that age group now) and I haven't smoked any of that stuff for 25 years (and I never did much back in the day either).

Well @DSRIGGS I have never even tried a cigarette let alone Marijuana. I'm a Leo but even though it's legal in my state I don't want to be the first case dealt with. Even though it's legal in my state some of our salary comes from federal monies which it is still illegal.

My son got his medical Marijuana card as soon as he turned 18. He dumped all his psych. Meds and narcotics. You know he has a severe cases of scoliosis with 3 major curves. He's lost 3 inches in height.

Once I retire or get disability I'm going to try it but not in the smoking kind. I'll get pills, food or drinks. God knows I don't need anything that causes the munchies.

Yes he dr Said he grew too fast one summer. He was 4'11.5 with me then over a period of 3 months he grew 5 inches. This was I believe his sophomore year. He's like his mother he has been very sick since birth. 400-500 of medication a month.

Unfortunately you and I know a thing or two about a mom and dad in my case, and our sons having medical issues. That being said and I am knocking on wood, Cameron has been doing better lately.

Now the rest of us need to get better!

BTW I would move back to the valley in a heartbeat so if you know of anybody who needs a manager/leader who has an MBA and 20 plus years of leadership experience, I am the man for the job.....or if somebody just wants to pay me a couple hundred k to stay at home I am good at that too!

Not sure if I told you but I lived in Chandler from 2002-2005. I ran a plant for NCR at Southern and Mills in Tempe. We sold our house at just the right time and moved back to our hometown in Illinois so our boys could be around family and get through school in a great district..... But they are grown so we can move anywhere now and since the Cali contingent isn't finding me a job yet I figured maybe you could hook me up!

Diana, Litchfield/Goodyear is where I was in the hospital and nursing home. It's a nice area that has practically grown from nothing but tumble weeds to a very nice area. Practically everything out there is new. If you don't have a job in the inner city to go to its a great choice. Traffic is almost Los Angeles like from there to Phoenix and back.
