What made you choose DS over RNY?

I'm not thin. I'm just barely in the overweight BMI category. But I'd had to actually diet to get much thinner, I think - and at age 63, I'd like to have a little cushion in case I get sick. I like eating what I want, protein first, and having the freedom to eat butter, chicken WITH the skin, sour cream, cheese, mayonnaise, salad with as much full-fat dressing as I want (I had all of those things today), etc. And of course, BACON. And by the way, today I also had a tuna melt sandwich, scalloped potatoes (two servings - one as a bedtime snack), a cheese, mushroom and onion omelet, a peach, an egg cream, and a metric buttload of sunflower seeds. And I still might have a couple of mini-Mounds bars before I hit the hay.
