Weight loss surgery tied to lasting digestive issues

Well duh!
Best parts are 1) that many of the "food intolerances" sound a lot like dumping and were NOT correlated with amount of weight loss. We've known this all along, that dumping is NOT a weight loss tool, just a very unpleasant side effect of certain types of surgery on the stomach, including gastric bypass. Yet some surgeons continue to sell gastric bypass as the best surgery for people with a sweet tooth, and patients, sadly, believe their surgeons.
2) the comment at the end of the article by a bariatric surgeon not involved with the study that the results are not surprising. She's absolutely right. The side effects of gastric bypass are very well known.

Andrei Keidar of Rabin Medical Center and Tel Aviv University in Israel is a DS surgeon, by the way. But this little snippet sounds like he is promoting the sleeve.
