Hi all,

Glad that I found this website! I had LapBand in 2009, and due to pancreatitis, caused by an angry gallbladder, it was taken out in 2012. I have been on the fence about having WLS for several years, after the bad experience with the band, and finally decided on the SIPS procedure. Hopefully my surgery will be in February!

I also HAD a band...good riddance to THAT.

Has insurance started paying for SIPS? Be very careful about that...unless you are already good with being a self-pay. When a proceure is "experimental," you find out you are a self-pay when you get a bill for 40-50 thousand dollars.
