Surgeries performed: RNY, DS, Sleeve, Band, and Revision (mine was RNY to DS)
Dr. Simper is a trained vascular surgeon who has been performing bariatric surgery since 1984. In 2008, he began performing the DS. According to his bio on Rocky Mountain Associated Physician's website (http://www.utahbariatrics.com), he has performed over 1oo DS surgeries as primary surgeon through 2011.
His office is located in the St Marks Hopspital medical professional building and performs surgery at both LDS and St. Marks. St. Marks is a Medicare designated Center of Excellence.
I had Dr. Simper perform my RNY to DS revision on 3/9/12. I found him to be knowledgeable, both about the DS itself and with obesity. I spent an hour with him during my consultation and he had no trouble whatsoever with answering all of my questions. I never felt rushed or that I was bothering him.
