It isn't the biggest loser but this guy I was on a fat loss TV show and he just posted this on Dr K's DS group on Facebook. One of these folks finally getting the DS and talking about it.

Sure looks like @mike727 . And if so, Mike, I give you lots of credit both for taking the steps needed for your health and also for having the courage to speak publicly about it. Your story and positive attitude will help others. And you are doing great with your DS, which doesn't surprise me at all.

Quit your (hairy) belly aching. Fifty is nifty. I LOVED turning 50, probably because I still looked 35. (Uh, 60, not so much.)

Hey guys!

Yes, that is me. I do plan on being more vocal about the DS. I don't usually try to lead my convos with "hey, I was on this TV show" lol.

And also yes, my celebrity is VERY limited. But, I'll use what I have to share about my experiences with the DS. I know it's not for everyone, but there are some who desperately need it but just don't even know it exists yet.

One of my longer term goals is to setup a charity of some sort that helps pay for the DS to deserving people. Hopefully, I can get that started in the next few years in addition to my other projects.

And thanks for sharing my post here. When I wrote it, I had no idea it would be read by so many so fast. Already over 2,000 people have visited and read since posting. Amazing.

@mike727 2,000 people is a lot! And you have hit upon one of my greatest frustrations, that being that so many people who would benefit from the DS not only don't know it exists, but even when they consult a bariatric surgeon they aren't informed about it's existence, even though it's a standard of care bariatric operation.

btw, what's happening with your mom? Last I recall, she was thinking about the DS, but had not made a decision.
