But, one's first trip, from another continent fer chrissakes, should NOT be to downtown Las Vegas. It should ONLY be to the strip...where I saw Elvis a while back and got very sunburned, but bikini ladies with iced towels were wandering around the pool area handing us those icy towels and that made it hurt less. Well, I guess it was QUITE a while back, wasn't it? But when I look for a Las Vegas hotel, I prefer the Bellagio, Aria, MGM...that kind of thing. (A day trip downtown for relatively cheap massages and a visit to the shark tank and maybe into the evening for dinner at Vic & Anthony's...very good. But, you know, one of the last times we stayed downtown, the motorcycle gangs were having a reunion and it was a very dodgy place...with signs up about which weapons you were allowed to carry and how long your knife blade could be and how long your chains could be. BTW, nowadays, I hate the Las Vegas buffets unless they are free, in that post-DS, I just don't have enough room to taste everything and it's a no-no to sneak it out in a purse. So I'm better off in a high-rent district steakhouse where I get a doggy bag for later!
