Hail, too…but actual snow.

I think that the last time we did this was 1948. I have photos…of my psycho uncle throwing snowballs at his terrified toddler son, who also grew up to be psycho.

They say if you keep living long enough you will see everything. Damn I guess I am getting old. Snow innPasadena.

In my neighborhood, we had thunder, lightening and a tiny bit of hail. Our elevation is about 330’ above sea level. The Rose Bowl, which had substantial hail, sits at 830’ and then uphill from there, in the foothills…heading toward the actual mountains, there was actual snow. Some of those areas are in the Pasadena city limits, most are not.

This photo has to have been taken Jan 19th or 20th, 1949, NEAR Los Angeles, which had 3” of actual snowfall. (My cousin…and I think he looks younger in that photo so it’s not computing in MY brain, would have to have been 2 years, 4 months old. Is that the right size for a two-year-old?)

Aw... I agree, looks 2 ish. What a reaction! Looks like your cousin was not a fan of snow in that moment! Cute photos!
