Fistula in ano - anybody else here dealt with one?

Hi all,

I've not complained about this very much publicly, but I'm looking to connect with folks who may have suffered from an anal fistula also.

My ordeal began as an anal fissure first detected last week of May 2015. I had an LIS performed 8/6/15, and after that procedure developed a horrible abscess that has become a chronic anal fistula. There are many more details that I will share if anyone is interested, but that's the gist of my butthurt (pun intended).

So, anybody willing to chat about such a problem? Share experiences? Advice? How long it took to resolve? Expectations for resolution? Just commiseration for a truly shitty summer and fall?

I had a fissure that Dr K took care of during my revision. He was worried that it would be a fistula but it was not, so sorry I don't have anything to offer.
