This marks the 48th anniversary of when I had first to go find something else to do with myself on "that Sunday." Yes, boys and girls, I remember the first Super Bowl game...lol. Luckily...I have spent the past 40+ years married to a guy who would rather read a book or watch reruns of Mad Men than that mess on tv.

And it is also the 50th anniversary of the Beatles first appearance on US tv, on the Ed Sullivan show. I was 17...and impressed. And bought at least one, but usually two, new Young Edwardian dresses...the Lanz Original brand was for flat-chested girls...like this, but it looked better with a body in it. As soon as the Beatles got here, our clothes, haircuts and makeup all needed updating!

I am right there with you. Believe it or not I wasn't a big Beatle fan. I didn't get the long hair at all! Still don't but they where great. I also watched them on the Ed Sullivan show. I was much more of an Elvis fan myself! I loved his swilved hips and twitchy lip. I remember him performing Jail House Rock! God Sue those where the good old days. Where the hell did they go? I look in the mirror and see this wrinkled face but the brain doesn't age as fast as the body! **** now I'm depressed for sure! I am going over to You Tube and watch Elvis. Oh and I hated those damn Monkey boots some of the guys wore!

I was 9 the year the Beatles first set foot on this side of the pond. While I enjoyed them, I think I was a bit too young to be all gaga over them. It also didn't help that my daddy didn't let me watch and 2) the station was a bit fuzzy...we only got two stations at that time even remotely clear and CBS wasn't one of them. Altho it was clearer than the ABC station.

My family was not into sports unless it was college football so we didn't bother watching the Superbowl when it started. And by the time I might have been interested, I was typically working and Superbowl Sunday was mostly slow except for commercial breaks.
