    Choosing Sleeve

@Munchkin and @DianaCox thank you for the info. I had no idea that insurance paid for travel expense. I'll have to research and find out what if anything my insurance reimburses for.

    Choosing Sleeve

Thank you everyone. I will be taking all of your info plus any other info I get in the next three months to make the best decision. I'm going to be as educated as I can possibly be before I ever decide on anything. Thank you all for being available to help people like me who walk into this not...

    Choosing Sleeve

Thank you. I will be using this next three months to do as much research as possible. I don't want to make the wrong decision even if I'm trying to do things quickly. As the saying goes measure twice and cut once.

I apologize. Some how I missed your post until I went back though just now. I really appreciate you taking the time to figure all that out.

    Choosing Sleeve

Well if it makes any of you feel better I don't have a consult for anything until the end of January so I have time to continue researching. I do apologize if I offended anyone. That was not my intent. @Elizabeth N. If you feel the need to block me then I guess ultimately that's your choice. I...

I do owe @robs477 an apology for my comment. I should not have called him selfish not knowing him. At the same time I'll make it clear that saying that I'm wanting to be spoon fed is so far from the truth and of zero help to the situation. I do apologize for my comment though @robs477.

    Choosing Sleeve

Thank you everyone. Outside of a coupe certain comments this has been really helpful. This is probably the most difficult decision I've ever made. It's left me in tears multiple times. I understand that DS is better weight loss. I know this is the case. I also know what's feasible though. Maybe...

Spoon feed....... Let's be glad you're hopefully not leading any support groups. Did you miss the part about the fact the research I've done shows that it would be successful. I've asked people to show evidence to the contrary to help me if I'm going the wrong direction. There's a difference...

    Choosing Sleeve

Instead of being so negative maybe you guys should show me that this is not the right direction to go. All I've heard is how bad of an idea it is but not a single person has taken the time to show me that it's a bad idea. Is there evidence that it won't work for someone my size? Because all I've...

If you don't mind me asking why does Dr. Keshishian state that the average weight loss is 66% of excess if that's not the case? Also at my weight waiting a year or more could be deadly. I think we can all agree on that.

    Choosing Sleeve

What I meant by faster is the time frame of being able to go under the knife. In order to do DS I would have to go to a surgeon 15 hours away. This in turn would require extensive travel, extensive cost and extensive time. Therefore it would require many more funds be saved up likely in the...

    Choosing Sleeve

After much deliberation I have decided that it's likely best for me to get the Sleeve. For those I've talked to before know I was looking into the DS. I just don't think that it's feasible at this time. I believe that the sleeve is my best bet at the moment. It would allow me to start getting...

    Dr. Steven Simper

Yeah that's one of my big concerns. My body metabolizes some pain meds much quicker than normal. When I had my toe operated on a few other times they had to give me over 4x the normal dosage of lidocaine and even after that were considering putting me under because my body metabolized it so fast...

    Dr. Steven Simper

Thank you so much for the advice @newanatomy . I have no idea what I would do without everyone here. Probably make myself even more of a nervous wreck. Lol

    Dr. Steven Simper

Thank you @newanatomy. That's what I'm thinking I may have to do is work with my pcp for aftercare. It works be great for him to be great in all fields but ultimately the most important thing is that he's a great surgeon.

    Dr. Steven Simper

Can anyone give their opinions on Steven Simper? I'd like as much info as possible. How was he as a surgeon? How was his after care? How was his bedside manner? Any special requirements? Any other info? Would you recommend him? I am looking into Ayoola in Dallas but have a feeling I may not be...

    Comparison

I understand what you're saying but I guess I'm just the concerned type. I just get concerned that if something happened to me that involved the surgery I would have no way to get to the surgeon in a timely manner. That was my only concern with the distance.

    Comparison

Yeah I didn't think that the surgery would help work hypothyroidism but figured I'd list it. Thank you for all the help larra
