I was wondering about B-9 Folic Acid. When I ordered it from Amazon it stated the F/A at 1200mcg but didn't mention the B-9. Is it just in the F/A or did I order the wrong stuff? I also see a recommendation for K-2. Do I need that and how much to start?
Lastly, what about a probiotic? Any suggestions? I really appreciate all the help from you and all the others. I think I'll go a month or so on this track and then try to have a more complete blood lab to take to the specialist and get a peak at any possible improvements in that time. Take care and thanks again. EW
All the B vitamins have names and numbers so B9 is Folic Acid.
I think 600 mg is the troubled bones K2 recommendation from this thread:
http://bariatricfacts.org/threads/i-have-osteoperosis-now.906/ Vitalady/BioTech capsule for K2 600mcg a day, and kept with 100K D3 every other day, 50K the other days, a magnesium citrate capsule with every calcium dose, 3,600mg of calcium citrate via capsules- not tablets, a boron tablet with every calcium dose, Strongtium 300 mg. and Vit K1 1,000mg.
Your calcium needs to broken up into 600 mg doses and remember to separate it from your iron doses if you are not taking hemm iron.
The correct portion of calcium will probably turn your colon into a rock unless you dose with lots of things to help. Magnesium oxide can help, but do not count it towards the 250 mg of mag you need for every 500 mg of calcium because it is hard for our bodies to absorb it. Miralax (or generic Miralax) is awesome. Aloe (fresh or pills) is a very gentle laxative. For the most part, you do not want to get stuck on a daily laxative, but getting your body used to all this calcium and still flowing is going to be a challenge I think. It is *my* biggest challenge anyway. It works out that for every vitamin I take, I take something for colon problem. Especially at first, you will probably need to be that proactive. I don't know if a probiotic will help or hurt. I tend to stay away from them because they have a history of causing me constipation pre-surgery.
If you are having a problem with constipation, do not ignore it. It can lead to hospitalization or hemorrhoids or anal fissures and we are talking big life time, send you to surgery problems. If you do have this problem, post something and there will a great flowing of advice from people who know this subject!
