UPS delivered a small package today. But I wasn’t expecting anything and didn’t recognize the sender, Colorart in St. Louis, MO. I checked credit cards to see what MrSue, who was at a class, or I may have ordered. Nada. A puzzlement, for sure. He got home & said he hadn’t ordered anything.
There WAS a phone number after the sender’s name, so I called. They answered, “American Express.” For sure a scam, right?
Not exactly. The Customer Service lady chuckled when I asked who she was and why she sent me a package, which when I opened it later, contained the infamous Tiffany Blue box and was tied with a satin ribbon and contained two, crystal champagne flutes, with a discreet “Tiffany and Co” imprinted in white on the base.
So, WHY?
It seems that AmEx thanks folks who have been “loyal members” for 50 years! This means two things:
1–I’m really old; and,
2–I had pretty decent credit when I was 26, back in 1973, when it was difficult for single women to get ANY credit card without a male co-signer.
Oh,wait! Three things!
3–I have exactly TWO champagne flutes!
