Hi my name is Amy and just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to this website and any helpful information would be appreciated. In the process of getting approved for revision surgery. I had the lap band done in 2010. Nice to meet everyone.

What are you hoping to be revised to? And with whom?
I'm trying to get a DS re-done, with Dr Keshishian in Glendale CA or Dr Rabkin in San Francisco CA.
This has been a wonderful site, I spend a lot of time just reading and reading, and re-learning!

Hi Amy,

I live in Peoria and just had a revision with Dr Keshishian in Glendale, CA. He is THE BEST IN THE WORLD. I don't know what you revision is but he has done over 2,000 DS Procedures with around 500 being Gastric By Pass to DS revisions. My revision is because my surgeon in Peoria didn't measure my small intestine and give me proper Alimentary Limb (yes the AL is very important no matter what your read about the DS) or Common Channel so I was malnourished. He has adjusted my limbs to what the data told him (along with my personal history) is the proper lengths to make me healthy again.

Again not sure what you are revising from and why, but do your research. This is a very complex surgery and your last chance to get it right. You want this done be the best. Keshishian I think there can't be any better, but Rabkin in the Bay Area has a great reputation and did the DS for many on this board..just like Dr K.

Good luck and whomever you go with make sure they measure your small intestine to get the proper lengths for you AL, CC and BPL.

I had a virgin DS with Dr. Alverdy at U of C and live in the area (north shore). I am very pleased with the results.

For a revision, even from a lapband, you will want to seek a revision specialist.

Thank you Hilary. I have a few co workers that I used to work with that have put me in touch with some of their friends that also had the DS done at U of C. Small world They both have been very pleased with their results and have been very helpful in answering questions. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well the next few months and I get my approval. Thanks for reaching out!
