My name is Rhainy and I am brushing up on the research I did a few years ago, in preparation for hopefully having a D/S done within the next 6 months to a year.

I presently am 54 years old, 5'6" and 352 pounds with a BMI of 54. I have already had 2 spinal surgeries, have sleep apnea, hypertension, veinous insufficiency, high cholesterol, my knees are breaking down, depression, and various other co-morbidities. My insurance has an exclusion clause for WLS so it will be a battle to get approved.

I'll say a bit more later, once I've had a chance to read around the forums.

Hi and welcome. You've come to the right place.
If you have self funded insurance that has a complete exclusion for bariatric surgery, you may be out of luck. Get a copy of your EOC (evidence of coverage, a lengthy document about 100 pages, NOT just a summary of benefits) to see what is covered, if anything, and also what appeals rights you have, if any.
