Gastric sleeve revision to DS

Hi 2 years ago I had the Gastric Sleeve. My Dr recommended to me to have the DS I was too scared to do it then, thinking I could resolve my Diabete with the Sleeve never happened. Now I am going through the motions of getting a DS. My Dr had to really push for my revision. I should have listened to him the first time. I still am scared but I know this might be the only way to help resolve my Diabetes which I have had for over 25 years and insulin dependant for almost that long. I am 57 years old now I want the rest of my life to be in better health. Thank you.

Welcome, Joan. The DS is one of the best decisions I ever made.

the DS the only operation with any chance at all of resolving diabetes of such long duration and insulin dependent. I hope it will do the trick, but even the DS doesn't resolve diabetes for everyone. But you should at least experience significant improvement. The rate of resolution of type 2 diabetes with the sleeve is much lower.
