Quest Diagnostics screwed up the sample for the PTH I gave back on June 30, when the rest of my 3 month tests were done. Just got my results from the draw on July 8. Reference range in parentheses.

PTH, intact: 41 (14-64)
Calcium: 9.6 (8.6-10.4)

This looks good, right?

I rarely look at my calcium - if it is out of range, you would be very ill.

PTH looks good for now - it is hard to imagine it would change this early out.

By the way, mine was 41 too - down from 72 once and up from 35 last year. I'll be keeping an eye on that over the next year.

@southernlady I am taking 50,000 IU a day, plus another 1000 in my calcium. How much more do you think I should take?
Maybe take double on weekends or whatever 2 days you can remember?
I take 50,000 M-F and 100,000 on S & S and mine is just above 100. If I drop even one dose, it drops to the high 70's. And my PTH goes up.

I'll try throwing an extra two 50Ks in a week. The next question is whether I need to ask my PCP to order six month labs. Dr. Elariny asks for labs at three, nine and twelve months.

Rachael - I take 500K/week to get mine over 70 - I add a second dose three days/week.

I wouldn't worry about the 6 month labs myself. Things just don't change that quickly.

Edited to fix stupid math error ...
