Are SADI-S and BPD/DS bariatric procedures identical twins or distant relatives? – A case report

n=1 for each arm of this study, but identical twins. And the SADI twin started 11kg (almost 25 lbs) heavier than her DS sister.

But very interesting.

At some point someone will publish long term results for SADI. A twin study is interesting, but you can rarely, if ever, have large numbers of subjects involved, and in this case the results are short term only. Still interesting, but not terribly meaningful when long term results are what matters.

Plus, how many obese monozygotic twins can there be that would consent to this? Still, it's very interesting that, as close as the surgeries "seem" to be, the mechanisms for how the weight is lost are different.
