So I think I have gotten my self pay financing worked out and now just need to narrow it down to the doctor. There are so many good ones to chose from. I live in SC so I’m looking in Ga, NC, Sc, and Tennessee. I am hoping to have surgery soon. Whose the best!!????

If you want to save a lot of money and have an excellent surgeon look up Ungson in MX. Practices with Wilhelmy and Esquerra. They have a good system and it is easy to use.

If you are looking at the DS, there are not “so many good ones to choose from.”

There are some "good ones" and some who say they do the DS and really don't, so you need to be careful. Given your location I would recommend Dr. Sudan at Duke. Even then, you should ask specific questions about common channel and limb lengths, as some surgeons have gone to making excessively (IMO) long common channels that aren't consistent with the operations that generated the excellent statistics of the long term results of the DS.
There is one in SC that I am aware of at MUSC. I don’t remember her name right off hand but I’ve seen the operative report and it is a traditional DS.
