Anyone who lives or used to live in the San Fran Bay Area know a good hematologist? The one I started with after my DS surgery, Dr. Lebowitz, has retired. He was fabulous, understood my absorption issues, didn’t expect me to take iron supps and and was proactive with my infusions. His replacement is Terrible! He refuses to believe my surgery has caused the problem, won’t test me very often because blood tests will cause anemia ( ?!??) and is just generally rude. I can put up with a lot to get the care I need, but this guy seems to be of the “avoid infusions” mind set. That’s not gonna work for me!

I have a PCP in the Bay Area who has the DS and I get all my blood work through her, if you want her info. Otherwise, I would call Dr Rabkin's office and ask for a referral
