I doubt the surgeon is going to waive the 6-month nut requirement. There is just too much liability for the surgeon to take, plus they want their patients to be successful and healthy with the DS. FB is full of people who confess to protein deficiency, dehydration, and vit/min deficiencies due to their own negligence. Six months will fly by. Take time to prepare yourself physically for surgery, get baseline data on your vit/min levels and fix any vit/mins levels that need improving, and work on improving your eating habits.

Update: I finally got a call back from the office apologizing for the delay. They are going to submit the paperwork to insurance. I’ve only had 3 Nut consults so far. I have no idea how long it will take to get a response from insurance with decision.
